About Us

Desert Veterinary Clinic has been selected by the Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine as a Guided Preceptorship Practice, which bestows status as an adjunct teaching facility. Veterinary students are assigned to our practice for part of their fourth year of study to gain experience in clinical veterinary medicine and business management. Featured below are the biographies of some of the externs we've hosted since February 2002.

Megan M. O'Dea
Class of 2002

February 18 - March 15, 2002

Megan's father owns a veterinary practice in Spokane and she has been involved in veterinary medicine since she was young. Working at his practice as a veterinary assistant during high school encouraged her to apply to the Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Her older brother is also a veterinarian and works at her father's practice and she has another brother who will graduate from WSU with his DVM this year. Megan graduated from WSU with a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Science in 2000 and will receive her DVM from WSU in May of 2002. Megan's biggest achievements include being accepted into the Accelerated Veterinary Medicine program by the WSU Honors College and passing the National Veterinary Board exam. She hopes to practice quality medicine in a companion animal practice in Eastern Washington. Hobbies include fishing and outdoor recreation, cooking, reading, and playing softball. Megan has one dog: a heeler/lab mix named Rowdy.
