Jen Ranta, DVM

Dr. Ranta earned her MS from Montana State University in 1974 and her DVM with honors from WSU in 1978.  In addition to practicing small animal medicine, surgery and dentistry she also manages the clinic as business director.  Hobbies include reading, sports, and boating.  She has two college age children; 2 dogs and 3 cats.  Dr. Ranta has been with Desert Veterinary Clinic since 1978.

 
 

Ethan Nelson, DVM

Ethan graduated from WSU in 1990 and worked in Tacoma before returning home to the Tri-Cities. Dr. Nelson has worked with Desert Veterinary Clinic since 1994. Hobbies include travel, hiking, hunting and fishing.

 
 

Diana Thome’, DVM

Dr. Thome' earned her BS in 2001 and her DVM with honors in 2004 from Washington State University.  She practices small animal medicine including surgery, dentistry and ultrasound. Dr. Thome' is originally from Walla Walla and her hobbies include Cougar football, running, Americans Hockey, gardening and boating.  Her family includes her husband, one son and a dog named "Dolly."  Dr. Thome' began working at Desert Veterinary Clinic in 2004.

 
 

Christina Parbs, DVM

Christina Parbs graduated from WSU in 2007. She worked in Walla Walla for two years before joining Desert Veterinary Clinic in 2009. She is especially interested in veterinary behavior. Her hobbies include hanging out with her husband, two cats, and her horse.

 
 

Jim Benson, DVM

Dr. Benson started with Desert Veterinary Clinic in December of 1992. He has practiced in the Tri-Cities since 1969 during which time he worked a mixed practice until 1980 then switched to small animal only. His hobbies include working on old cars, yard work and most importantly, spending time with his grandkids, kids and his wife, Gwen.

 
 

Misti, Licensed Veterinary Technician

Misti began working at Desert Veterinary Clinic in July of 2007 after graduating from Yakima Valley Community College. She loves taking care of animals of all shapes and sizes. She has two pets of her own, a dog and a very special cat. She is proud to be a member of the team at Desert Veterinary Clinic!

 
 

Gabi, Licensed Veterinary Technician

Gabi earned her Associates in Veterinary Technology with honors from Yakima Valley Community College in June 2008.  Her hobbies include attending hockey games (Go Ams), scrapbooking and spending time with family.  Gabi shares her home with 4 cats, a hamster, and a 19 yr. old Pomeranian.

 
 

Breanna, Licensed Veterinary Technician

Breanna began her career at Desert Veterinary Clinic in April of 2009. She received her license from Bel-Rea in Denver , Colorado in 2005. She is married and has a daughter. Her other family members include a Chihuahua mix, a lab mix, and one cat. She enjoys reading, gardening, camping and spending time with her family.

 
 

Jen, Veterinary Assistant

Jen has always had a love animals and loves that she gets to work with them daily. She began working at Desert Veterinary Clinic in August of 2007 and is working towards obtaining her veterinary technician license. At home she has two beautiful daughters, a husband, two dogs and three cats to keep her company!

 
 

Heather, Veterinary Assistant

Heather was born in Kennewick and has lived in the Tri-Cities her entire life. She has 4 years of experience in the veterinary field and has been a part of the Desert Veterinary team since Feb. of 2010. Heather's animal family includes a cat named "Lelu" and a bird named "Petey". She hopes to add a Boston Terrier or a Pug to her family soon! Heather's free time is spent yardsaling, painting, camping and spending time with her family.

 
 

Sean, Veterinary Assistant

Sean started working for Desert Veterinary Clinic in September of 2009. He graduated from WSU with a Bachelors degree in Animal Science. He has worked as an assistant for over 2 years, loves radiology and of course, the puppies! He hopes to attend veterinary school in the near future. His family includes his wife and one son along with 3 dogs and several horses.

 
 

Lisa, Patient Care Representative

Lisa began working for Desert Veterinary Clinic in October of 2009. She owns many pets including a St. Bernard, a boxer mix, a shepherd mix and several cats. Lisa loves all animals and enjoys her job very much!

 
 

Stefanie

Stefanie has 7 years experience in the veterinary field and joined the Desert Veterinary Team in April 2011. She was born and raised in Spokane, but moved to the Tri-Cities and became an Ams fan last year. Stefanie has 3 cats; Millie-Mulligan, Nermal and Roxanne, 2 corn snakes; Diamond and Houdini and a variety of others. She loves reading, painting, working on the farm and spending time with family and friends.
